The Camp Herald

The Camp Herald was the Holiday Camp’s brochure. The first ones were produced in the 19th century. These were sold at a nominal charge, but by 1897 they were being sent out free to enquirers. The earliest Camp Herald so far discovered dates back to 1904. Joseph Cunningham chose the name ‘Holiday Camp’ to distinguish his camp from military camps such as the Boys’ Brigade.
